The tour was great. Veronica did an amazing job and tailored the tour to what we wanted and were interested in while still exposing us to some new things. Highly recommend.

Alexander · From Germany · Heart of Seoul

The food tour was SO GREAT! We really had the best time. Our 12 year old daughter was just as entertained as we were. Perfect mix of sightseeing, history, information and DELICIOUS food. Really such a fabulous tour.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the best food tours ever – A must-do in Seoul! This was hands down one of the absolute best food tours we have ever done! Every single stop was incredibly delicious, but what truly made it special was the wealth of insider information. We learned so much about the local culture and hidden gems that you would never find in a standard guidebook. An unforgettable, super tasty experience from start to finish. If you are in Seoul, do not miss this! Outstanding!

Yvonne · From Germany · Heart of Seoul

Brilliant tour. Veronika was so friendly and kind and showed me all sorts of places that I would never have discovered on my own. Strong recommend.

Immersive Traditional Experience

This was such an insightful experience! You don't only get to simply taste the food and drinks, but you also learn the historical significance and and the story behind it.

So relaxing and immersive :)

I sought out Gastro Tour Seoul for a unique experience. Our guide, Veronica, had advanced training in culinary and food science. Therefore, we did not visit the touristy places experienced on other food tours. This tour was tasty and fun with Veronica’s knowledge of food, Korean history and local customs. We felt like we were getting insider information from her as she took us through the streets and pointed out the best places.

Absolutely perfect Korean hospitality!

This tour was an absolutely incredible experience. Veronica was the most perfect guide who taught us so much about Seoul's history and Korean culture. My partner and I are both Koreaboos and having such a personalised, casual but respectful experience was truly a joy. The traditional alcohols and the stories that accompanied the tastings was just so special and the dinner afterwards was sumptuous and such a wonderful time. Veronica was extremely respectful of my accessibility needs and checked in with me in such an empathetic, caring way. It was GREATLY appreciated and I am so sorry this review has taken so long to post!

Will definitely be booking with Veronica the next time we are in Seoul!

highly recommended!

An amazing food / walking tour in Bukchon! I went with my family (parents + sister + grandma) and they all loved it and we learned a lot!

Great tour to learn about rice wine and authentic food culture

We thoroughly enjoyed the discussion with the Brew Master at Bitdam and our dinner with Veronica. I am sure you will find a very different approach to Korean food compared to the usual spicy/in your face commercial food flavour profile. While I am a drinker, my friend is not but both of us had fun. Thank you for an informative night

Fantastic way to learn about Korean brewing culture

What a cool way to learn about magkeolli. Veronica and Ms. Kwan were both extremely knowledgeable and willing to share. The tasting was a very nice experience and the food afterwards was excellent. Thank you!

Gourmet Walking Tour Review

The guide was an excellent communicator and quite knowledgeable about the Fortress. She took time to explain the history at each walking point. Classic about Veronica guide was the food tasting at different points which delves into the history of the Korean way of doing things.

Excellent Evening of Soju and Food

Having heard good things about Veronica Kang who suns Gastro Seoul, we booked an evening of learning about Soju with dinner; and she certainly did not disappoint. Being in the hospitality industry prior to organising food tours, she was very knowledgeable and passionate about the culinary delights Korean food had to offer.

We started with a visit to a local recognised Soju Master Brewer and had an informative briefing of the process of making it followed by tasting and sampling of the high quality Soju. Having 10 shots of Soju varying in strength and flavours was truly an enjoyable challenge.

We then walked a short distance to a local restaurant where we had a most delicious dinner of streamed rice with several local side dishes (banchan), a generous serving of fresh oysters, broiled pork slices and spicy Korean noodles. The portions were most generous and served with a sweet rice wine (Makgeolli).

We had a delightful evening with Veronica filled with not only good food but also an educational insight into the intricacies of Soju and Korean food

A very different food tour and thoroughly enjoyable. Veronica shared some interesting into Korean, culture, food, history and eating etiquette. Lunch was an incredible array of dishes in a small restaurant serving traditional Korean food. The tea stop was again interesting in a lovely tea house. Recommend this tour to gain an insight into real Korean food.

We did the Heart of Seoul Tour. It was an excellent tour - probably in our top 3 food tours of any country - and Veronica was an excellent guide. Knowledgeable about food, culture and history. The great thing about the tour was that it included varied experiences so you got to eat at the busy local market, at local restaurants, tourist areas, food halls and at modern Korean places. It was wonderful to see and taste the different foods of Seoul and was a definite highlight of our time in Seoul.

Amanda · From USA · Heart Of Seoul

We really enjoyed the tasting and the opportunity to see how traditional Korean alcohol is made. We loved how cozy our little group felt. Our guide Veronica made sure not only that we had a great dinner, but she also showed us around the neighbourhood and made great suggestions for things to do. We highly recommend this tour to any traveler who likes having a good time while also learning new things!

Katrin_l · From USA · Korean Brewery

It was very fascinating to learn about how each traditional alcohol is made and we enjoyed our trip to the brew master’s workshop. The dinner was very interesting, and although it wasn’t really our taste, it was still interesting to try the traditional seafood dishes.

Savanna · From USA · Korean Brewery

I loved this tour! It was a mix of history, culture and delicious nourishing food. Veronica was absolutely delightful, easy to understand and so experienced. The lunch was amazing and so unique, not something I would have found on my own or felt comfortable going on my own as it is a hidden gem. The food was healthy and I loved it all, especially the local mountain herbs! The pace was relaxed but we got to see a lot. The little stop at the tea shop was so cute and the tea delicious. Veronica, you made the tour amazing and I loved hearing about your past work too! Lots of experience in the hospitality industry!

Wynon · From USA · Traditional Gourmet

Each place we travel to we always do a food tour. This is without doubt the best we have done. Veronica was an amazing guide , very helpful and informative. We went first to a very traditional Michelin starred restaurant. There was a multitude of truly amazing dishes , many I had never heard of . We then explored a Hanok village and despite truly torrential rain had an excellent time. We finished in a wonderful tea therapy house . Such a perfect way to see the area. A truly memorable tour, thanks to Veronica!

Mark W · From USA · Traditional Gourmet

We had a wonderful time with Veronica. She showed us a side of Seoul that felt truly authentic and off the beaten path. The food was fantastic—not just standard tourist fare, but specific local dishes that gave us a great overview of the food scene. You can tell how much care and preparation goes into this tour. It’s a must-do for anyone visiting Seoul, regardless of your group size!
