A Table Shaped by the Tide (Late Summer & Fall)
With its old fishing villages and industrial heritage, Seocheon offers a nostalgic landscape that feels like a journey back in time. But the true story of its food begins with the tides. As the sea moves in and out, the UNESCO-listed Seocheon Tidal Flats support a rich ecosystem that has shaped the lives and food culture of local communities for generations. A Table Shaped by the Tide is a seasonal culinary journey exploring how the sea and mudflats shape Seocheon’s table. Taste seafood selected according to the season and the day’s catch, and discover Seocheon’s celebrated Gim, following its journey from seaweed grown in the ocean to the dried sheets found on Korean tables. Here, natural ingredients and local craftsmanship come together to create flavours deeply connected to place and season. More than a seafood tour, this is a journey into the rhythm of the tides, the changing seasons, and the people who have learned to live with them. What you taste is decided not by us, but by the sea and the season. This program is available for private groups planning a journey to Korea’s West Coast.
