Tuscany Of Korea
Taean is where the sea, mudflats, fields, and mountains come together. Leaving behind the fast pace of Seoul, this “Tuscany of Korea” journey explores local farms, markets, coastal sand dunes, and tidal flats while discovering how nature and the seasons shape the region’s food culture. At the heart of the tour is Jayeom, a rare traditional Korean salt made by boiling highly concentrated brine from the tidal flats. Once close to disappearing, Taean Jayeom is now listed in Slow Food’s Ark of Taste. Visit local producers, farms, markets, and farm-to-table restaurants to experience the ingredients, craftsmanship, and stories that have preserved Taean’s culinary heritage. More than a seafood or sightseeing tour, this is a Slow Food journey through the landscapes and flavours of Korea’s West Coast. End the day with a seasonal dinner prepared with fresh local ingredients and discover a place where the sea becomes salt, the land becomes food, and time turns tradition into flavour.
